Description

French Victorian era Pearl & Old Mine Cut Diamond Snake Necklace composed of 18k yellow gold. Depicting a three dimensional snake, with 8 pearls set along the neck and head of the snake, 2 ruby eyes, and an estimated 0.37 carat Old Mine Cut diamond set into the dangling heart. There is also a glass compartment at the back of the heart that holds a small piece of woven hair. The body of the snake is three dimensional and similar to a tubogas style necklace. The necklace weighs 55.7 grams; measures approximately 18.5″ long and 8.5 mm wide. Hallmarked for French origin. Circa 1870.
