Victorian Rose Cut Diamond & Black Enamel ‘Day & Night’ Earrings composed of 18k yellow gold. Set with 10 Rose Cut diamonds in the centers of the settings and on dangling drops, weighing approximately 0.85 carats in total. With ornate black enamel details around the center clusters of the earrings, as well as on the drops. Referred to as ‘Day and Night Earrings’ as the bottom portion of the earrings can be removed and the tops can be worn without them. French origin and hallmarks, horse head (assay mark) & maker’s mark. Reverse French wire backs. Approximately 2″ tall by 1/2″ wide, weighing 7.5 grams in total. Circa 1847.
