Description

French Edwardian era 4.18 Ctw. Old European Cut Diamond & Ruby Crescent Moon Pendant Necklace composed of platinum and 18k yellow gold, on a Victorian 18k yellow gold chain. The pendant features 15 cushion-shaped rubies with Burma origin running along the center of the crescent, framed on either side by 49 Old European Cut diamonds that weigh approximately 4.18 carats in total. The rubies are set into 18k yellow gold and the diamonds are set into platinum. The crescent measures approximately 1 3/4″ tall by 1 1/2″ wide and weighs 12.8 grams; converted to a pendant from an antique brooch. Hallmarked for French origin. Circa 1905.

The Victorian chain is 18k yellow gold and has twisting tubular links alternating with flat oval links. It weighs 16.9 grams and measures approximately 24″ long, with an O-ring clasp. Circa 1900.
